The results are summarized as follows. i) With regard to chemical compositions of seeds, it was shown that protein content was 20-26 %, carbohydrate 50-55%, fat and oil 1.5-2.1%, fibre 4.3-7.5% and ash 2.6-3.3%, which were almost same of kidneybean. (Tab. 1). The ash of Vigna seeds contained 33. 6% P₂Ｏ₅ and 7.75% CaO on the average. (Tab. 2). ii) Average contents of Vitamin B₁ were as high as 810γper 100 gr, comparing with that of Azuky bean 400γSoybean 750γ. It is very noteworthy that a special variety of Vigna Plants \"Bijin-mame\" were excellently rich in Vitamin B₁, of which contents were over 1200γin year 1950 and 1951 in succession. (Tab. 3) iii) It seemed to be possible to classify the Vigna Plants into two groups; Creeping type (Ⅳ-A) of Vigna Plants such as \"Cow-pea\"and \"Nankai\" were suitable as feeds for domestic animals, on the other hand many varieties of Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲand Ⅳ-B type were suitable for our foods, which will be reported in the following paper. \"Cow-pea\" was superior to other varieties of Vigna Plants, so far as Protein contents and yields of dry grasses per area were concerned. iv) Further-more from the C/N ratio of stems harvested periodically, it seemed to us that stems played the important roll not only as transporter but as temporary deposite of plant nutritious substanses.
